Earth Day
Earth Day, which falls on April 22 of each year, is a day set aside to commemorate the origins of the modern environmental movement in the 1970s to raise awareness of environmental issues and to motivate people to take action to conserve, improve and restore our environment.
LION EV would like everyone to look back at our world and help restore it to a better place.

Reasons for Earth Day
The purpose of Earth Day is to raise awareness of environmental issues worldwide and to motivate people and organizations to take action to conserve, improve and restore the environment in which we live, and to make necessary changes to reduce future damage, as well as to help create awareness of preserving the Earth at the individual, community and national level.
The core of the establishment of Earth Day is to mobilize civil society to help create change.
History of Earth Day, April 22
Earth Day originated in the United States, but soon became an important day recognized in many countries. Today, it is known all over the world. Today, more than one billion people from more than 190 countries participate in Earth Day activities.
In 1969, California experienced a major environmental disaster. The Santa Barbara Oil Spill caused 3 million gallons of oil to spill into the ocean along the California coast. The oil spill spread as far as 35 miles.
Gaylord Nelson, United States Senator The founder of Earth Day, Nelson, saw and realized the environmental problems that existed, so he decided to push for change. At that time, Nelson was still a young politician. He asked for help from an activist named Dennis Hayes to organize a protest across the country and chose April 22 as the day of the event.
More than 2,000 schools and universities across the United States joined the "sit-in" protest, which means protesting in one place by refusing to leave the place and marching peacefully. Most of the participants were young people and students. The protest that was organized received a lot of media attention. So Senator Nelson decided to organize a team and continue the environmental movement.
In 1990, Earth Day was organized around the world with more than 200 million participants from 141 countries. As a result, environmental issues gained attention on the world stage. Earth Day in 1990 stimulated people to be interested in recycling. And helped pave the way for the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) or Earth Summit in 1992 (1992) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The success of Earth Day also led to Senator Nelson receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the President of the United States, which is considered the highest honor for the general public as the founder of Earth Day.
World Day in Thailand
Thailand has also organized activities to conserve nature and the environment, starting with the Earth Day campaign, which was first organized in 1990 by the United States Alumni Association Language School. In 1990, it was an important starting point for environmental conservation in Thailand, resulting from the death of Seub Nakhasathien, Chief of Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary. Academics and environmentalists, lecturers and students from 16 institutions jointly organized World Earth Day. Since then, there have been continuous campaigns to conserve nature and the environment, in order to make people and various organizations aware of the importance of nature and the environment, including the severe impacts of human actions on the environment and our world.
What we can do to help reduce global environmental problems
Reduce plastic use by turning to reusable bottles and bags.
Buy Fairtrad products to help promote the development of a sustainable fair trade system.
Recycle paper and use paperless services to reduce paperwork, such as receiving receipts via email instead of having stores print them on paper.
Support organizations or agencies that have a mission to care for the environment.
Use electric cars instead of fuel-powered cars.
